World Odisha Society Proud to be an Odia
World Odisha Society (WOS) is the highest and apex Organisation of the Odia Diaspora Worldwide.
The Society consists of the representatives of the Odia Samaj of different Countries, prominent Non – Resident Odias, Odisha Lovers and eminent community leaders representing Odia Socio – Cultural institutions. Apart from ensuring the Safety, Security, Solidarity and Wellbeing of Pravasi Odias all over the World.
The forum has been engaged in Projecting, Promoting, Propagating and Popularising the Art, Architecture, Culture, Crafts, Carvings, Tradition, Tourism, History, Ethos, Language, Literature, attire and Cuisine of Odisha in the international arena. The Sole Goal of this supreme platform is to channelize the huge material and Metaphysical Resources of NRO’s for the All-round Development of our Mother State, Odisha. Particularly All our Missions and Visions should be destined and directed to see a Rich, Vibrant and Prosperous Odisha in the Year 2036, when we will be celebrating Centenary Year and the Formation of our Mother State.

WOS Causes
- Promote Brand Odisha in India as well as outside India.
- Help in creating a plan/itinerary knowing the taste of domestic/international visitors
- Through NRO ministry connect Middle East/Europe by flight to Odisha
- Encourage entrepreneurs/local people to participate in tourism
- Encourage Investors to invest in an industry that can be based on Metal produced in the State.
- Odisha lost the bus for software even though it was a promising state for software in 1995.
- Encourage electronic industry to have a semiconductor setup or hardware manufacturing setup in Odisha
- Promote Odisha to be a leader in Shipbuilding or Helicopter/Fighter plane manufacturer. And to make Sunabeda become a leader in this.
- Promoting Small scale industry product of Odisha , like Food (Traditional Pitha, Spices, Mushroom, Phulbani Turmeric, Sweets/Rasagola/Chenapoda, Fish/Prawn, Koraput Coffee etc) Forest Products (Honey, Benzoin resin/Jhuna, Ecological Plates/Khali) Handicraft/Traditional (Filigree, Pipili applique, Sambalpuri Saree, Pattachitra etc)
- Organise more programs/publish articles about Odisha in the National News, Magazines, Discovery channel, Flight journals etc
- Right representation of Odisha at national level. For e.g. Why not Kalinga Army regiment?
- Educate odia kids/non odia kids about History of Konark temple or Kalinga empire, Buxi Jagabandhu, Odisha contribution in freedom struggle etc as We still don’t have a good comic book/Tv program, Movie on these lines.
- Ensure that the community feels proud of being Odia and it is not limited to celebrating events among us and publishing in our circle.
